Digital Signage with Stream

Posted by Nigel Chadwick on 2010-08-24 11:39:48 in Digital Signage

DOOH (Digital Out of Home), or Digital Signage, is beginning to show some serious interest in the enterprise grade 3G services recently launched by Stream. High street retailers, video and digital solution companies, hospitality companies and shopping center operators alongside billboard and advertising screen companies are turning to Stream to provide reliable and easily manageable network services for the delivery of media content.

This sector has traditionally been held back by the need to provide fixed line connections as the content feed, which brings up issues such as cabling or the permanence of screen fixtures. With screens available with on-board video playback capability, the simple and instant attachment of a SIM based modem can enable streaming of content. For more sophisticated time slotting and multiple content feeds (ie, RSS, twitter, mix of audio and video, across different time slots/days), the attachment of a quality 3G router and content management system makes the delivery of signage content a breeze.

Stream intend to become involved with POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International) as we are the only mobile network service that brings enhanced 3G connectivity specifically for DOOH and Digital Signage purposes. Finally, advertising and information screens can be placed anywhere or moved around whilst being either temporary or permanent, thus optimising the location for the delivery of content becomes much easier and much more flexible.

We would be delighted to discuss any of our services further with interested advertising and media companies. Digital Signage Europe magazine, one of the sectors leading trade publications has already picked up on these new services, and features an article conveying the clear benefits of mobile connectivity over fixed line.
